Kashmera's in the experimental mode

Actor Kashmera Shah has come up with alterative ending for her new play
Kashmera's in the experimental mode
More interesting isn't particularly a new trick. Several visual and print productions in west have offered more than one ending of the story. Will Smith starrer 'I Am Legend' is a more recent example of alternative ending where they offered a version in which the protagonist doesn't die.
More experiments of the same nature have been conducted in western theatre too.
1970 production 'Accidental Death of an Anarchist' by Dario Fo had a character of the Maniac offering two choices for audience on how the story could end. Although there aren't many popular examples of alternate endings in Indian productions, actress Kashmera Shah seems to be keen on changing the scenario. Popular for her reality show stints and spicy roles; the actor has come up with a play called 'Tere Ghar Ke Samne' which offers not two but three different endings.
The twist in the story is - the audience gets to see a different climax of the play every week. "Earlier we thought we'd do this for a couple of weeks," Kashmera says excitedly, "And then stick to which the audience prefers the most. But we saw, this experimenting process raises the excitement quotient for the actors and audiences; and we decided to keep it on." Reportedly, some people are actually watching the play again to find out how differently it ends in their second outing. A good experiment and also a smart marketing trick we say!
